Many Faces of Ramblin Rose
Rambling "Rose" Cartwright an eccentric saddle tramp from the Nations was born in the vicinity of Chicago, Illinois on August 26, 1838 who would later grow up and become a gun-toting hard drinking frontierswoman with Calamity Jane Syndrome. Rambling Rose grew up to look like a man, act like a man, shoot like a cowboy, drink like a fish, cuss like a bull whacker and was well-known for her inflated life story telling that she shared with anyone who would listen.
